1. Stiff vertical, sword like foliage with a mid-rib (like a blade of grass has a mid-rib).
2. Foliage dark green.
3. Flowers spidery and down curving.
4. Rhizome tough and fiberous.
5. Seeds corky and float.
This non-native species will take over and are destroying Louisiana iris in their native habitats! They spread by cork seed and rhizomes. Please do not plant them.
