We welcome your interest in Louisiana
irises. They have been a joy to us since 1961. We hope they will
bring you the joy and friendships they brought us. It is our
pleasure to offer both older varieties as well as the newer introductions.
Bud and I were joined as life partners
on December 31, 2004. With his help the garden will continue
to grow. We have added many new cultivars for your viewing pleasure.
We test, collect, sell and hybridize Louisiana iris.
You are cordially invited to visit the garden when you are
in the area. We have 4 1/2 acres devoted to Louisiana irises
and grow some 400 varieties and seedlings. Our peak bloom is
during the month of April. Our phone number is (985) 446-2329,
EMAIL bois@charter.net Please call or Email in advance to make
sure we are home and that we have bloom.
We are now working with LSU AG Center to test weed control
in Louisiana irises. The results will be released during the
2006 SLI Convention when we will be on tour.
We are located in south Louisiana in Terrebonne Parish. (Louisiana
is the only state that has parishes other states have counties.)
Our location is near Chacahoula, Louisiana on 1831 Bull Run Road.
From Hwy 90 (Corridor 49) take the Chacahoula Exit to Hwy 20
Turn East at Wilson's Country Corner. We are one mile on the
left at 1831 Bull Run Road. The drive is difficult to see so
look for the mail box on the roadside.
